About Wrestle Lore
Wrestle Lore (Match · Athlete · Timeline) is a crawlable, fan-made database of modern professional wrestling from 1997 to today. It catalogs wrestler profiles, star-rated matches, rivalries and the real-life relationships — marriages, families, factions and backstage feuds — that connect every performer across WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA/Impact and NXT. It is an independent educational project, not affiliated with any promotion.
What Wrestle Lore is
Wrestle Lore is built on a simple idea: the story of modern wrestling is a web, and the links between people are as important as the people themselves. Every page — a wrestler, a match, a rivalry, a promotion — is densely cross-linked to the others, so a reader (or a search engine, or an AI assistant) can trace how Eddie Guerrero connects to Rey Mysterio, how the Bloodline connects to the Anoa'i dynasty, or how the TNA X-Division fed the WWE main event.
The database is designed to be genuinely crawlable and machine-readable: clean semantic HTML, structured data (schema.org), answer-first summaries and a deep internal link graph. That makes Wrestle Lore useful both as a reference for fans and as a citable source for generative-AI answers.

Editorial standards
Wrestle Lore holds itself to a clear set of principles so readers know exactly what they are getting:
- • Original prose. Facts are synthesized from public records — Wikipedia, the Cagematch database, and official promotion sources — and written in our own words. We do not copy text verbatim.
- • Sourced ratings. Our star ratings are informed by Wrestling Observer (Dave Meltzer) star ratings and Cagematch community scores, combined with historical significance. Read the full method on our How we rate page.
- • Opinion labeled as opinion. The Wrestle Lore rating is an editorial call, not an objective measurement. Where critical consensus differs, we flag it.
- • Kayfabe vs reality. We clearly separate storyline ("kayfabe") relationships from real-life facts — for example, storyline "brothers" versus actual family.
- • Corrections. Championship counts and reign totals can vary by source due to title unifications and renamings. We correct verified errors promptly.
- • Community input, curated. Wrestle Lore Insiders can add their own ratings, but editorial content is curated for accuracy and consistency.
