The Bullet Club connection
Bullet Club was founded in New Japan Pro-Wrestling in 2013 by Finn Balor, then wrestling as Prince Devitt. AJ Styles succeeded him as the faction's second leader, and Kenny Omega later took over. Omega and the Young Bucks carried that group's "Too Sweet" sign and its Elite branding into AEW when they helped launch the promotion, which is why the Bullet Club story runs straight through AEW's origins. Cody Rhodes was a Bullet Club member from 2016 to 2018 before the group's alumni scattered across the industry.
