Three debuts, three world champions
The Shield
The Shield debuted at Survivor Series on November 18, 2012, when Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose attacked as a unit. The group disbanded in June 2014 and reunited for runs in 2017 and 2018.

Why it mattered
Three developmental talents debuted as a single unit and each went on to hold the WWE or Universal Championship. Their matched tactical gear and their entrance through the crowd became a signature look that WWE returned to for years.
The breakup, when Seth Rollins turned on his partners in 2014, set up main-event programs that ran across the roster for the rest of the decade.
