D-Generation X
D-Generation X formed in 1997 around Shawn Michaels and Triple H, with Chyna and Rick Rude alongside them. The group turned over its lineup as members left and the New Age Outlaws and X-Pac joined, and it reunited in 2006.

Why it mattered
DX was the on-screen voice of the Attitude Era's rebellious tone. The crotch chop and the group's 1998 stunt outside a WCW event drove merchandise sales and became a fixture of WWF television.
The act had staying power. Shawn Michaels was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D-Generation X in 2019, recognizing the group as a defining part of his career.
