Living Colour
WWE writes its own entrance music and almost never rents anyone else’s. Punk put the real Living Colour master on a list of contract demands he expected Vince McMahon to refuse; McMahon said yes to all of it. At WrestleMania 29 and again at 41, the band played it live on the ramp.

Overview
CM Punk is the most important anti-establishment act in professional wrestling since Steve Austin. He broke in on the Chicago independents and IWA Mid-South in 2000, then made his name in Ring of Honor, where a straight edge gimmick, the Samoa Joe trilogy and the year-long “Summer of Punk” storyline turned him into ROH World Champion and the most quotable talker of his generation.
He arrived in WWE in 2006 and spent five years being pushed and misused in roughly equal measure. That changed on June 27, 2011. Sitting cross-legged on the stage with his contract set to expire, Punk aired real grievances at WWE management in the “pipe bomb” promo. It became the most-watched WWE promo of the YouTube era and the moment that reframed his entire career, casting him as the genuine alternative to corporate WWE.
The reign that followed ran 434 days, the longest WWE Championship run of the modern era. It carried the strongest run of title defenses WWE had booked in fifteen years, with standout matches against John Cena, Chris Jericho and Daniel Bryan, and, at WrestleMania 29, a Paul Bearer tribute classic with The Undertaker that ranks among the Streak’s best nights.
Punk walked out of WWE the night after the 2014 Royal Rumble, fought twice in the UFC, and returned to wrestling through AEW in 2021 to a Chicago rapture. His 2023 WWE homecoming closed the biggest loop in modern wrestling. Across ROH, ECW, WWE and AEW he has held twelve world championships, and he currently holds the Undisputed WWE Championship at the top of the card.
