The Story
Seth Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship by cashing in Money in the Bank mid-main-event, converting Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns into a Triple Threat and pinning Reigns — the first MITB cash-in ever during a WrestleMania main event, instantly dubbed "the Heist of the Century."
The night had been building toward a collision the crowd only half-wanted. Fans had rejected the coronation of Roman Reigns but loved a rampaging, blood-and-suplex Lesnar, and the two beat each other into a genuinely brutal, sympathetic slugfest. It was good — but it was heading somewhere the audience had already decided against.
Then Rollins' music hit. He sprinted down the ramp, contract in hand, and in a matter of seconds rewrote the finish: a Curb Stomp, a cover on Reigns, and a brand-new champion. The swerve turned a divisive show into a triumphant one and remains the gold standard for the Money in the Bank concept's dramatic potential — the payoff to The Shield's rise and betrayal, with Rollins finally standing above the two men he broke apart from.
