The repackage he escaped: WWE rebooted him as Max Dupri, a fashion-agency impresario who did not wrestle. He walked off the gimmick on the September 30, 2022 SmackDown and took the LA Knight name back; the breakout followed within a year. Regularly cited since as the modern case for letting a wrestler keep the act that works.

The WrestleMania 42 alliance - a six-man win over The Vision's Logan Paul, Austin Theory and IShowSpeed on April 18. It dissolved over principle: when the twins rejoined Roman Reigns' reformed Bloodline, Knight spent the summer telling them, on television, that they had seen this movie before, and became the story's designated truth-teller.
