Shinsuke Nakamura beat AJ Styles to retain the IWGP Intercontinental Championship in both men’s New Japan farewell. Two future WWE headliners closed their New Japan runs with a dream match, Shinsuke Nakamura’s strong-style edge beat AJ Styles for the IWGP Intercontinental Title.
On the grandest New Japan stage, AJ Styles challenged Shinsuke Nakamura for the IWGP Intercontinental Title, a striker-versus-flyer dream match between two men both bound for WWE within weeks.
Nakamura’s Bomaye/Kinshasa knee strikes carried the day. It served as a fitting send-off to two of the finest runs of the decade before both jumped to WWE.
