The Story
Edge & Christian won the WWF Tag Team Championship, outlasting the Hardy Boyz and the Dudley Boyz in the ladder-match arms race that redefined tag wrestling. It matters because it took car-crash choreography and turned it into art — the template every future Tables, Ladders & Chairs match would chase.
These three teams had spent two years escalating their ladder-match rivalry, and TLC II was the point where they emptied the tank. The signature image is Edge launching himself off a ladder to spear a dangling Jeff Hardy clean out of the air, a freeze-frame that still headlines WrestleMania highlight reels. Jeff's high-wire Swanton and his suspended climb across the ropes gave the sprint its daredevil spine.
The run-ins deepened the chaos rather than diluting it: Rhyno and Spike Dudley crashed the finish for their respective teams, and Lita got involved at ringside, keeping every fall in doubt. When Edge & Christian finally hauled down the belts, all six men had risked their bodies for one unforgettable, career-defining spectacle. It set the standard for the modern multi-man ladder match.
